Abstract

Diabetes shows no alarming symptoms in its early stages, so that the visit to the doctor is often postponed and the disease continues to get worse. In certain situations, diabetes is discovered by pure chance, on the occasion of routine medical tests. Taking into account the complexity of the condition, its major social and familial impact but also the fascinating technical and scientific evolution of the last years, we decided to approach a theme related to this pathology. The main objective was the determination of a model that includes the efficiency of glucose and sensitivity of insulin, two parameters of a vital importance. The study included for continuous glycemic monitoring and analyses data collected from patients diagnosed with insulin-dependent diabetes, whose insulin treatment protocol was changed. The adapted method tries to show the dynamics of insulin, through the glucose elimination rate from the blood. In this paper, we propose the following general model for the interaction of glucose and insulin Numerical simulations are carried out and graphs are also generated to indicate the role of insulin in the regulation process of glucose in the human body. Future research may investigate these factors and take into consideration oral therapy in the treatment of Diabetes Mellitus.
