Keywords : Entrepreneurship, women, heads of household, professional life, family life

Abstract

This study is based on the specific reality of female household heads to question and identify the dynamics of women's entrepreneurial activity in Côte d'Ivoire. In general, it proposes to analyze the determinants of the entrepreneurial dynamism of female heads of households. Investigations into the sources of motivation, the capacity to create and run a business, the means they have in the regulation of professional activity and family responsibilities have generated qualitative and quantitative results analyzed using methods of causal analysis and methodological individualism.
It appears that the motivations of the entrepreneurial mothers are certainly much diversified but fundamentally socio-economic. Creative, rigorous, persevering, they have the sense of organization by the control of their time and the ability to set priorities in favor of the liberal nature of their activities. By the gradual disappearance of gendered socio-cultural values, they manage to regulate professional life and family life correlatively involving the development of their activities.
