Abstract
The objective of this thesis is to analyze the effects of entrepreneurship on economic growth in the Republic of Congo. The ARDL model was used with a time series ranging from 2000 to 2020. Our results show that in the short term, entrepreneurship is significant and negatively explains economic growth. In the long term, the entrepreneurship variable positively explains economic growth. These results have enabled us to make a number of recommendations to the relevant authorities: We suggest that the public authorities encourage high-quality entrepreneurship focused on exploiting opportunities in sectors such as transport services, agri-food, forestry, and mining. With regard to the ease of doing business index, we suggest that public authorities encourage business creation by making improvements in areas such as infrastructure, access to finance, administrative burdens (high costs and long delays for licensing and business registration), and lower taxation.
