The aim of this article is to analyze the determinants of faecal sludge disposal patterns in the commune of Pointe-Noire. Using an unordered multinomial logit model, the study showed that only the variables: income, level of education, amount spent per day on water, gender, age, frequency of household waste disposal, state of cleanliness of latrines, type of dwelling, participation in sanitation activities and, finally, choice of company to collect waste are determinants influencing the fecal sludge disposal patterns of Pointe-Noire populations. We also found that households in Pointe-Noire prefer to bury faecal or faecal sludge in their plots and dispose of it in nature (gutters, streets and ravines), rather than using the authorized method.
