The impact of Co-Curricular Activities on Sanskrit Learning Process

Abstract

Education aims all round development of human personality such as physical, mental, social, emotional, spiritual, aesthetic and cultural develop. Modern education emphasizes on co-curricular activities. Because modern education believes that students shall be trained. So co-curricular activities bind a relationship bond between right knowledge and right action. Co-curricular activity teaches us ‘Art of Living’. We can study the impact of co-curricular activity on the practical life of the students. By performing these activities the students can become able to express their ideas freely due to active participation in debate, seminar, conference, workshop, story, essay and poetry writing for school magazine, recitation, library work, symposium, indoor games and outdoor games, mass drill, parade, scouting, guiding, yogic asana, wrestling, bicycling, gardening, NCC (National cadet Corps), NSS (National Service Scheme), and ACC(Auxiliary Cadet Corps), music, painting, dancing drawing, sculpture, dramatics, exhibition, fancy dress, folk dance and folk songs, flower decoration festival etc. Co-curricular activities help a student to progress and achieve the goal. In this context we can take the example of “Taare Zameen Par”. In this movie we can see how a student is helped by a teacher to overcome his weakness and prove his excellency in his interest. The motto of co-curricular activity “Teach me, and I will forget. show me and I might remember. Involve me and I will never forget.”
