Abstract
Long before the advent of Cartesian medicine, man found the means to heal himself. In this article, we present techniques and methods used in the past and even today in the health field. To do this, the use of preliminary results from field work on ancient health processes, in archaeology, and even demographics in previous years are required. Thus, this local know-how allows us to understand that patient care passes or is done by occult beliefs, traditional healers or knowledge of the natural environment. Men have attached beliefs to their cultures that have given rise to this local heritage of another kind. A so-called cornerstone when looking in various fields of social sciences, because health yesterday as today conditions us.
